ServicesStorm Damage Repair
Storm Damage Repair in Luther, Built on What the Inspection Shows
After hail or high wind, we walk your roof, mark every hit and lifted shingle, and photograph what we find. You see the evidence and hear our plain read on it before we recommend a repair, a partial replacement or a full new roof.

What Storm Damage Repair Covers
Storm damage is rarely one big hole. Hail knocks granules off asphalt shingles and bruises the mat underneath, so the shingle ages years faster even though it still looks whole from the yard. Wind breaks the factory seal strip, creases the shingle at the nail line, and leaves it ready to tear off in the next gust.
Our storm damage repair starts with finding those failures, not assuming them. We separate fresh storm damage from normal wear, because that line matters to you and to your insurance company. Then we repair what the storm broke and tell you plainly if something else on the roof was already near the end of its life.
Spring hail and straight-line winds are part of every year in central Oklahoma, which is why we document carefully. A clear record from this storm keeps it from getting mixed up with the next one.
What the Work Includes
The whole roof and exterior, checked
We go over each slope plus the ridge, valleys and edges. Gutters, downspouts, screens, siding and soft metal like vent caps get a look too, because dents there show how big the hail was and which way it came.
Photos of every finding, with dates
Each hail hit is marked in chalk and photographed beside a reference so its size is easy to read. The photos are yours to keep, hire us or not.
Shingle replacement and sealing
We pull creased or missing shingles, set new ones and seal them by hand so each tab bonds to the row beneath. We get as close to the type and color as current stock allows, and tell you beforehand if the difference will show.
Flashing, vents and pipe boots
Wind pries up step flashing, and hail splits plastic vents and rubber boots. We swap out the broken parts and reseal the joints where water would otherwise run along the deck.
Decking and underlayment check
Wherever shingles blew off, we probe the deck for soft or stained wood and replace any sheathing that won't hold a nail.
Short-term cover if the roof is open
When a section is exposed, we cover it to keep rain out until the permanent repair is on the schedule.

Signs Your Roof Took Storm Damage
- Dark grit collecting at the downspouts
- A big wash of granules after a storm tells you hail scoured the shingles. That grit keeps sunlight off the asphalt, and once it is gone the shingle wears out fast.
- Dings in gutters and vent caps
- Hail leaves clear marks on soft metal. Pitted gutters are a strong hint that the shingles above were struck as well.
- Shingle pieces on the lawn
- A single missing shingle means wind broke the seals along that row. The shingles beside it are often lifted and creased too.
- New stains overhead or drips in the attic
- Water indoors after a storm suggests a puncture, flashing that lifted or a split boot. A small stain can sit over a lot of wet insulation.
- Dark circles or bare mat on shingles
- Round dark spots are most often hail bruises, where the granules were knocked loose and the fiberglass mat is showing.
How a Storm Damage Job Runs
- 1
Inspection on the roof
We get up on the roof, mark and measure damage on each slope, and check the attic if you report a leak. Nothing is recommended until this is done.
- 2
Findings, in plain terms
We show you the photos and explain what is storm damage, what is age, and what each means for how long the roof will last. If repair will hold, we say so. If damage is spread across most slopes, we explain why roof replacement makes more sense.
- 3
Insurance, explained not handled
If you file a claim, our photos and notes help you show the adjuster what happened. We can be on the roof when the adjuster visits to point out what we found. The claim decision and any negotiation stay between you and your insurer.
- 4
Repair day and cleanup
We protect landscaping and the driveway, remove damaged materials, make the repair and sweep the yard with a magnet for nails. Before we leave, we walk you through what was done.
What Moves the Cost of Storm Repair
Price depends on what the inspection finds, so we give you a line-item scope after we have been on the roof, not before. If insurance is involved, the scope follows the damage we documented. These are the things that change the number most.
- Spread of the damage
- Swapping out a handful of wind-torn tabs on a single face of the roof takes little material and a short visit. When hail has bruised shingles on most faces, patching stops being good value and a new roof usually costs less over the years ahead.
- Damage below the shingles
- Wet or delaminated decking, soaked underlayment or rotted fascia adds material and labor once it is uncovered.
- Pitch and access
- Steep slopes need extra safety setup and slow the work. Tight access for equipment can add time on the ground.
- Material match and extras
- Discontinued shingles, metal flashing work, new vents and gutter repairs each add to the scope.
Storm Damage Repair Questions
- When should I get my roof looked at after a storm?
- Aim for the first few weeks, and right away if water is coming in. Insurers set time limits for reporting damage, and every gusty day works lifted shingles looser. An early visit also links what we find to the date of a particular storm.
- Could my roof have hail damage I can't spot from the yard?
- It could. Hail bruises on asphalt shingles tend to show only at close range, as a soft spot or a patch of bare mat. So we walk the roof surface instead of making a call from the ground or a ladder.
- Will you say so if a claim isn't worth filing?
- We will. When the damage is light or looks like ordinary aging, you hear that from us directly. A claim that falls under your deductible seldom does you any good, and a straight answer beats a weak case.
- Do you deal with my insurer?
- We hand you clear photos and a written scope of what the storm did, and we can be on the roof when the adjuster comes. We are not your adjuster and we don't negotiate your settlement. The claim stays yours to run.
- Do you do storm repairs beyond Luther?
- We do, in Jones, Edmond, Choctaw, Harrah, Midwest City and Spencer as well. You get the same steps no matter which town you live in.
- What about gutters the storm hit?
- We look them over on the same trip. Gutters that are dented or pulling loose can be fixed or replaced along with the roof, and the Gutters page goes into that work further.
